Fortress Recruit is supporting a Defence Engineering organisation seeking an experienced PLM Lead Administrator to manage and optimise their Product Lifecycle Management system. This role is central to the day-to-day operation of the PLM platform, ensuring smooth performance, data control, and effective support for the engineering teams.
Key responsibilities
* Lead administration, configuration, and daily operation of the PLM system (Windchill).
* Manage engineering data, workflows, and change control processes.
* Deliver user training, coaching, and support.
* Liaise with software suppliers to resolve issues and implement system improvements.
* Configure products, folder structures, object types, and templates.
* Maintain system housekeeping, licences, and access control.
* Provide reports and insights on system performance and data status.
* Support CAD data structures, common part libraries, and legacy digital data.
To be successful, you’ll have
* Extensive experience administering PLM systems, specifically Windchill (ideally as a super‑user).
* Strong knowledge of engineering data management, CAD integration, and configuration control.
* Ability to train and support users at all levels.
* Proactive approach with excellent problem‑solving and documentation skills.
* Good working knowledge of IT systems and Microsoft Office.
* Continuous improvement, workflow optimisation, or system upgrade experience.
* Exposure to Creo, MRP/ERP systems, or digital engineering platforms – desirable.
