Due to the promotion of the existing postholder, an exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Director of Postgraduate Medical Education.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic postgraduate medical education team across both The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust.
This is a career defining opportunity to help shape and design the development of the next generation of doctors within the Black Country. The postholder will provide strong, ambitious leadership, strategic direction and vision for the assurance, management and delivery of postgraduate medical education across 2 LEPs., The Director of Postgraduate Medical Education (DPME) provides leadership, strategic direction and vision for the assurance, management and delivery of postgraduate medical education across the two local education providers (LEPs) (The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust). They are responsible for the quality of the learning environment provided by LEPs for medical learners defined within their role. The DPME works with the Chief Medical Officers and the Director of Education and Training to develop effective medical workforce plans and to ensure the smooth running of the education centres in the LEPs.
The DPME oversees appropriate and transparent use of the educational tariff received by the LEPs for postgraduate medical and dental education, working with others to promote inter-professional education across all healthcare learner disciplines.
