The Role
As a Business Development Specialist, you will contribute to Lonza's growth strategy. Based in Slough, you will collaborate with the Coordinated Biologics (INB) Business Development Managers across the EMEA region. Your focus will be early-stage prospecting, lead qualification, and conversion to sales, plus supporting conference and event preparation to raise awareness of Lonza\'s BIO offerings in key biotech hubs.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct in-depth desk research on potential target customers, supported by Market Intelligence
* Prospect and initiate outreach to target customers and consultants
* Follow up on marketing-generated prospects to convert them into concrete leads and opportunities
* Liaise with internal teams (Technical Sales, Commercial Development, Licensing) to ensure alignment on technologies and value propositions
* Support conference preparation, including booth duty and partner meeting outreach
* Apply lead generation tools such as Zymewire, PharmaTargeting, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator
Key Requirements
* A technical degree or equivalent experience in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Engineering
* An understanding of drug development processes or a quick learner
* A proactive, organized, and positive hunting attitude
* Strong ability to quickly establish rapport with prospects and understand their needs in relation to Lonza\'s offerings
