Job Title: Lunchtime Supervisor Location: Birmingham, UK Contract Type: Part-Time, Term-Time Only Hours: [2 hours per day, Monday to Friday] Job Purpose To ensure the safety, welfare, and good conduct of pupils during the lunchtime break, both in the dining area and in the playground or other designated areas, promoting a caring and positive environment for all children. Main Duties and Responsibilities * Supervise pupils in the dining hall, encouraging good table manners and supporting younger children where needed. * Ensure the orderly queuing of children and safe movement around the school during lunchtime. * Promote positive behaviour in accordance with the school's behaviour policy. * Supervise children in the playground or indoor areas (during wet weather), organising and encouraging safe play and activities. * Assist in dealing with minor accidents and administering basic first aid, following the school's procedures. * Ensure that all pupils return to their classrooms promptly at the end of the lunch break. * Report any concerns about pupil welfare, safety, or behaviour to the appropriate senior member of staff. * Work collaboratively with other lunchtime supervisors and school staff to maintain a safe and positive environment. Person Specification Essential: * A caring and patient attitude towards children. * Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults. * Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team. * Awareness of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities (training will be provided). Desirable: * Previous experience working with children. * First Aid qualification. * Understanding of positive behaviour management strategies.
