Overview
Reporting to the Group Data Risk Director, the role holder will be responsible for forensically reviewing and challenging the Group's data privacy control environment and approach to data privacy management, to ensure we adopt and maintain leading practices. This role is key to safely enabling the Group's strategic ambitions for the use of AI, amongst other outcomes. The team sits within Lloyds Banking Group's Risk function and will partner actively with business units across the Group.
- Identifying areas for improvement and optimisation within the bank's data privacy control environment
- Working closely with business and strategy teams to anticipate changes required as the Group delivers its strategy
- Recommending key changes and opportunities for improvement including automation
- Collaborating with peers within the Risk function and across business units to monitor controls and the implementation of related changes
- Ensuring close alignment to the Group's Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and applicable regulatory standards
Qualifications / Requirements
- 10+ years leading teams or functions in a complex organisation
- 5+ years in a risk or first line control function within Financial Services
- 5+ years of Strategic Decision Making, showing ability to make timely decisions, assimilate complex information, and provide relevant recommendations
- Deep expertise in data privacy, specifically in the practical aspects of how privacy risk arises in businesses, and how controls combine effectively to mitigate privacy risk
- Strong understanding of the business process context in which privacy controls operate, including digital customer journeys, digital marketing, technology and business change
- Strong customer focus and ability to evaluate privacy risks with a customer lens
- Strong knowledge and expertise on non-financial risk
- Knowledgeable on AI and its associated risks
- Demonstrable ability to build partnerships, and provide challenge and advice
- Evidence of coaching and leading teams through rapid change
- Strong logical and analytical reasoning
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence at the most senior levels
- Experience within operational risk function within financial services (beneficial)
- Formal data privacy qualification e.g. CIPP/E (beneficial)
