The Opportunity
Matchtech are recruiting a Senior Agent to join EKFB on the UK's largest infrastructure project - HS2. EKFB is delivering 80km of major civil engineering works between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood, and we are now seeking an experienced Senior Agent to join the portal building team in Chipping Warden.

About the Role
As Senior Site Agent, you will play a key part in defining and driving the construction strategy for your section of works. Responsibilities include:
Supporting construction planning activities, including kick‑off meetings, pre‑start documentation, method statements, environmental and quality plans.
Supporting development of construction programmes, procurement schedules and design deliverables.
Liaising closely with the Agent, Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant, materials and temporary works.
Leading and developing the on‑site engineering team, ensuring high performance and continuous improvement.
Coordinating all construction operations in accordance with contract requirements.
Ensuring exceptional SHEQ performance across all site activities.
Producing progress reports, resource plans, cost plans and contributing to financial forecasting.
Managing material reconciliations, site measurements and cost controls.
About You
We are seeking a candidate with strong technical and leadership capabilities who can operate confidently within a large, complex civils environment.
Essential Requirements
HNC/D or Degree in Construction or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
CSCS (Black, White, White/Yellow, Yellow, or Red Experienced).
SMSTS (mandatory).
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Strong understanding of site engineering and construction supervision.
Experience managing teams and coordinating multi‑discipline operations.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Desirable
Experience with portal buildings, tunnelling, or other major civils packages.
Previous exposure to large‑scale infrastructure projects.
