Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our dental practice. We are an expanding, very busy mixed provision practice, providing both NHS treatment and Private treatment. The successful candidate will provide essential support to dentists during procedures, ensure patient comfort, and maintain high standards of hygiene and organisation within the clinic. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about patient care and looking to develop their career in dental nursing. We are offering the opportunity for nurses to develop in specialist areas such as Implant nursing, oral surgery, sedation and Endodontics. The position is paid and suitable for both experienced, qualified nurses and those undertaking training placements.
Duties
* Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and sterilised.
* Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, offering reassurance, and ensuring patient comfort throughout treatments.
* Maintain accurate patient records using IT systems, including updating treatment notes and scheduling appointments.
* Ensure the clinical environment adheres to health and safety standards, including infection control protocols.
* Support with administrative tasks such as managing appointments, handling patient enquiries, and organising clinical supplies.
* Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth clinic operations.
* Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in patient care within a dental or healthcare setting is preferred.
* Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to explain procedures clearly and empathetically.
* Knowledge of nursing principles relevant to dental care.
* Basic IT skills for managing patient records and scheduling systems.
* Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* A recognised qualification in dental nursing.
* Ability to work well within a team, demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail, and show initiative in providing excellent care and provision for our patients.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £13.00-£17.76 per hour
