Responsibilities
* Overseeing day-to-day warehousing operations for a busy recycling collection business, covering everything from goods into outbound.
* Recommending and implementing measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of all departments and staff work performance.
* Establishing and adjusting work procedures to meet company demands.
* Providing leadership by establishing clear expectations and demonstrating high standards of work practices, health, and safety.
* Administrative duties as required to ensure daily KPI performance is achieved.
* Overseeing and staying up-to-date on compliance and H&S regulations.
* Training and monitoring staff in standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safe work practices, including new employee inductions.
* Maintaining daily communication with management.
* Planning, coordinating and monitoring the receipt, order assembly and dispatch of goods.
* Using space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently and ensuring quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met.
* Having a clear understanding of the company’s policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these.
* Coordinating the use of automated and computerised systems where necessary.
* Organising the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress.
* Motivating, organising and encouraging teamwork within the work force to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded.
* Maintaining standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment.
Experience & Skills
Minimum warehouse management experience required: 3 years
* Well organised and flexible with time to meet reasonable business demands.
* Strong team player, confident and motivated.
* Excellent people management skills, with a track record of coaching and developing a team.
* Good knowledge of Excel and Microsoft.
* Good leadership and administrative skills.
* Have good knowledge of HR and disciplinary procedures.
* Confident and determined when faced with difficult decisions.
* Remuneration: £40K-£45K p.a.
