Our clients Construction Team in Preston is seeking a talented Solicitor (Associate/Senior Associate) with proven construction law experience to manage a varied caseload and play a key role in the team's growth and development.
The Opportunity
* Manage a busy caseload of construction matters both contentious and non‑contentious with immediate responsibility for existing work
* Advise clients across the construction industry including contractors, developers, architects, engineers, local councils and homeowners
* Draft, review and negotiate construction documentation (contracts, professional appointments, collateral warranties, bonds, guarantees, etc.)
* Advise on JCT, NEC, IChemE and FIDIC contracts as well as procurement and risk management
* Handle disputes: breach of contract, delay & disruption, loss & expense, adjudication, arbitration and litigation in the Technology & Construction Court
* Collaborate with colleagues across service lines (commercial, property, corporate)
* Support, supervise and develop junior team members
* Contribute to business development, knowledge sharing and team objectives
* Write blogs/LinkedIn posts and participate in client training or seminars (optional)
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 3 years PQE in construction law
* Experience managing own caseload with minimal supervision
* Strong technical expertise in both contentious and non‑contentious construction matters (desirable)
* Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts (desirable)
* Excellent attention to detail, organisation and communication skills
* Commercially aware, proactive and confident in client‑facing situations
* Proven business development ability and track record of building networks
* Ability to collaborate and support team development
