The post holder will have responsibility for the management and supervision of theCommunity Mental Health Team.This is an integrated health and social care team and the manger will line manageand supervise both health and social care staff and be accountable for the standardof practice which must be delivered according to the Policies and Procedures of bothPennine Care NHS Foundation Trust and Rochdale Borough Council.You will provide strong leadership to the team to ensure it performs in the mostefficient and effective way ensuring all key performance indicators are met whilstproviding a safe and high quality service. Main duties of the job To provide strong leadership and vision to the team maintaining robust quality assurance to enable a safe high quality service to be delivered. To direct staff and provide expert advice and guidance on the management of service users care.To ensure professional supervision systems are in place.To deal appropriately with clinical incidents and complaints in accordance with trust policies.To work with and monitor performance indicators to achieve key performance indicators.To effectively manage the referrals to the team ensuring capacity is maintained and urgent cases are responded to in a timely manner.To chair MDT meetings, reviews, case conferences, planning meetings asrequired.To act as a Safeguarding Adults manager providing advice and managerialdirection in line with Safeguarding Adults processes and procedures to the team.To effectively liaise and collaborate with other professions, statutory andindependent agencies.To observe and practice within the legal requirements of the Mental Health Act 1983 and Mental Capacity Act and act as a resource on this matter to the team. To provide information and resources to non-mental health professionals in relation to the safe and effective management of service users with mental health psychological problems.To observe and practice within the legal requirements of the Mental Health Act 1983 and Mental Capacity Act and act as a resource on this matter to the team.To maintain professional awareness and standards by keeping abreast ofchanging trends in clinical and professional practice.To be aware of professional and clinical accountability, with due regard to your code of professional conduct.To ensure commissioning of care for service users is carried out using the local authorities systems and processes, adhering to eligibility under The Care Act(2014) and ensuring responsibilities are discharged according to local authority Person Specification Education/qualifications Essential • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN), Social Worker or Occupational Therapist with current registration or other professional registered qualification in a health or social care with Current Registration with Professional body. Desirable • Educated to degree level or working towards • Formal teaching qualification • Completion of Preparation for Mentorship / Practice Teacher / Fieldwork Educator qualification or willingness to complete Experience Essential • Substantial experience as a senior mental health practitioner at Band 6 or equivalent level in a CMHT or similar service with clients with severe/ enduring mental health issues. This should include • Experience of working with multi-agency child and adult safeguarding procedures. • Experience of working to objectives, within a performance management framework. • Experience of providing dayto-day clinical leadership and operational management.
