About the Role
A fast‑paced food manufacturing site in Banbury is seeking an experienced Hygiene & Facilities Manager to take ownership of all hygiene operations, facilities management, and supporting services.
This is a hands‑on leadership position where you'll be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food safety, leading a dedicated hygiene team, and ensuring the site remains fully compliant, efficient, and audit‑ready.

Key Responsibilities
Hygiene Management
Develop and maintain Cleaning Instruction Cards (CICs), ensuring cleaning processes are validated and risk‑based.
Investigate any hygiene‑related non‑conformances or microbiological deviations and implement corrective actions.
Oversee hygiene standards across production areas, offices, external grounds, and shared spaces.
Ensure the hygiene team is fully trained (including COSHH) and all schedules are delivered.
Contribute to hygienic design considerations for new equipment and site improvements.Facilities & Site Operations
Manage subcontracted services including silo cleaning, window cleaning, gardening, and sanitary waste.
Ensure IBCs are cleaned and ready to meet production demand.
Oversee CIP validation programmes and ensure BRC and customer compliance.
Maintain complete, accurate documentation for audits.
Oversee PPE laundry, vending services, and locker allocation for new starters.Sustainability, Waste & Pest Control
Lead pest control activities and ensure timely completion of actions.
Manage waste removal and drive improvements in waste segregation and environmental performance.
Support sustainability initiatives across site operations.Continuous Improvement
Conduct internal hygiene audits and inspections.
Validate chemical usage and ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines.
Drive improvements across efficiency, hygiene standards, and team capability.What We're Looking For
Essential
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Experience coaching, influencing, and developing teams.
Level 3 Food Safety & Level 3 HACCP (minimum).
Sound understanding of microbiology and food safety.
COSHH training completed.
Ability to create CICs and apply hygienic design principles.
Strong organisational, decision‑making, and time‑management skills.
Able to work under pressure and outside core hours when required.Desirable
Level 4 CIP qualification.
