- discussions at interview stage welcome) Post number: 200496 The role The post holder provides a Technical and Health and Safety planning service supporting our field teams in the delivery of flood risk asset maintenance and Capital improvements.

Responsible for supervising the Powys IDD (Internal Drainage Districts) land drainage programme.

The post holder contributes to the forward planning processes and is essential in the delivery of the asset management maintenance and capital works programmes and incident response.

As an organisation we support flexible working.

You will be contracted to the NRW office at the above location and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment.

Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.

We aim to make offers of appointment within 4 to 8 weeks of the closing date.

What you will do Support and assist in the delivery of the Land Drainage Act and water level management across Powys IDD.

Responsible for supervising the Powys IDD maintenance programme to ensure effective delivery of the planned works for water level management.

Attend the IDD Advisory Group.

Contribute to and monitor the delivery and planning of flood defence maintenance programme, including individual projects.

Undertake utility searches and gather other technical, environmental and H&S information for individual works and input into the risk management planning of the work.

Provide financial and technical data, including estimating, to enable accurate costing to ensure efficient and effective delivery of works to meet cost, quality, and deadlines.

Assist in the support of contract management and the undertaking of active monitoring to deliver the flood risk maintenance programme.

Effective use of GIS systems to produce critical documents, used in the delivery of FRM maintenance and projects.

Undertake health and safety duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post Be committed to Natural Resources Wales Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policy, together with an understanding of how it operates within the responsibilities of the post Be committed to your own development through the effective use of your personal development plan (known as Sgwrs).

Your qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills In your application and interview you will be asked to demonstrate the following skills and experience using the STAR method .

Qualifications; HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent is desirable with a minimum advanced level (A levels or equivalent) and related experience.

In this role you will be expected to support H&S best practice by actively promoting awareness and ensuring the provision of safe working practices to comply with NRW policy and standards.

Participation in cross-team working and stakeholder engagement to establish partnerships in the delivery of NRW flood risk objectives is an essential component of the role.

Good ICT, organisational and records management skills.

Full UK driving licence.

Participation in the NRW's incident response duty roster.

Welsh language level requirements Essential: Level B2
- Upper intermediate level (able to discuss work matters) with an expectation to develop language Welsh language skills to Level C1
- Proficiency level (fluent Welsh speaker) following an agreed training programme.

Desirable: Level C1
