Job Description
Our client, a leading funds platform asset manager, is seeking a Head of Investments (Private Markets) to join their team in London. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a significant impact on the growth of their private markets proposition. The role will oversee investment strategy and fund manager research across a diverse range of private markets funds and managers. The successful candidate will be accountable for sourcing, onboarding and managing relationships with all existing and prospective private markets funds.
Responsibilities:
* Ownership of the manager research and selection framework focusing on private markets
* Drive strategic direction for commercial expansion of the firm's private markets business
* Source fund/manager opportunities aligned with strategic trends and investor sentiment
* Oversee the pipeline of existing funds through maintaining strong partnerships and monitoring IDD compliance
* Prepare summary documents reporting on fund performance
* Integrate sales and client feedback into the research and selection strategy
* Develop thought leadership content and white papers to deliver actionable insights to sales and marketing teams on existing funds, market opportunities and investment themes
* Contribute to product strategy by advancing the investment research practice and capabilities
Requirements:
* 15+ years of industry experience
* Prior experience in manager selection or manager research at an asset manager, investment consultant or comparable institution (with private markets focus)
* Comprehensive understanding of the private markets landscape and prominent funds in the sector
* Robust technical knowledge of fund management
* Substantial experience with investment research and portfolio management
* Understanding of the wider economic environment and its impact on private markets
* Strong senior stakeholder management capabilities
* Commercially minded with proven ability to develop business, establish new partnerships and articulate the firm's value proposition
