Client Name: Swansea Bay University Health Board
Role: Locum Consultant in Haematology
Location: Singleton Hospital (Main base in Singleton; clinics could be held in Neath Port Talbot)
Shifts: 09:00am – 17:00pm, Monday to Friday
Rates: £100 - £125 Per Hour (PAYE)
Line management and on-call detail: Myeloid - 1:7 on call

As a Haematology Consultant, you will divide time between the ward, outpatient clinic and the laboratory, collaborating with a cohesive team of consultants with various subspecialty interests to provide advisory and consultancy services to hospital specialists and general practitioners.

Main Duties / Responsibilities
* Provide diagnosis, screening, treatment, preoperative, operative, and postoperative management of patient care.
* Actively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information to explain a diagnosis and treatment options.
* Coordinate treatment plans and prescribe various types of treatment.
* Provide constant monitoring and care for patients.
* Communicate with patients and the multidisciplinary team on shared patient decision making.
* Work in and, where appropriate, lead a multidisciplinary team.
* Assess and prioritise patient requirements, delegating effectively to others.
* Recognise, review, and report a patient\'s condition to the patient and the multidisciplinary team.
* Perform basic administrative and clerical tasks related to records, prescriptions, patient information, and monitoring treatment plans.
* Conduct research to develop and test techniques and equipment to improve procedures and outcomes.
* Help teach and train other junior doctors, medical students and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
* Essential
* Be a GMC registered Doctor with license to practice (you do NOT need to be on the Specialist Register).
* Have relevant experience at Consultant level, or have references to support transition up to Consultant level.
* Ideally, have prior NHS experience.
* Hold evidence of stand-alone Right to Work in the UK (locum jobs do not offer visa sponsorship).
* Pass an enhanced criminal background check (DBS).
