This role is ideal for someone at the early stages of their engineering career - whether recently qualified or with some hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting. Job Description:

This is not a reactive maintenance role — instead, you'll focus on learning, supporting the wider team, and growing into an all-round mechanical engineer. You'll assist with routine tasks, get involved with design and project work, and build a deep understanding of the plant and its equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in mechanical breakdowns and troubleshooting with support from experienced engineers
2. Carry out preventative maintenance activities on production equipment
3. Learn and understand how machinery operates and support continuous improvements
4. Work with the team to assemble mechanical components and assist in upgrades
5. Use AutoCAD for basic mechanical designs and layout work
6. Conduct routine mechanical testing and analysis
7. Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the shop floor and workshop
8. Optional shift cover (12-hour shifts) available to increase earnings and broaden experience
Requirements:
1. Level 3 Apprenticeship, mechanical engineering qualification, or relevant degree
2. Some hands-on experience with mechanical systems in a workshop or manufacturing environment
3. Understanding of key components such as motors, bearings, shafts, and belts
4. A proactive, positive approach with a genuine desire to learn and develop
5. Experience using AutoCAD (or willingness to learn)
6. Strong attention to detail and safe working practices
Package/Benefits:
1. Salary: £37,225.50 per annum
2. Company pension
