A freight forwarding company is currently looking to appoint a Finance Manager to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the business and act as a key financial partner to the directors.
Ideally the company would like someone with experience within the freight or logistics sector, however candidates from other industries with strong all-round finance experience will also be considered.
The Role
The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the company’s financial operations and supporting the directors with financial planning, reporting and decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:

Leading end-to-end accounting operations including sales and purchase invoicing, payments and reconciliations

Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports for the directors
*
Producing quarterly financial reports and performance analysis
*
Managing budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning
*
Monitoring costs and supporting profitability analysis
*
Managing VAT processes and ensuring full HMRC compliance
*
Overseeing year-end processes and supporting external accountants where required
*
Supporting the directors with financial planning, cost control and business performance analysis
Candidate Profile
*
Strong background in management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
*
Experience with VAT and year-end accounting processes
*
Hands-on and commercially minded approach
*
Confident working closely with senior management and supporting financial decision-making
*
Qualified by experience or formally qualified
*
Strong Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel)
*
Experience using Sage 50 is desirable
