Job overview
At NELFT we have an opportunity for you to work with the Thurrock Youth Justice Team as the speech and language therapist.
We are looking for a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly team. You will be part of our community team and also be based with the Thurrock Youth Justice Service, working with their young people. You will also support our autism and ADHD assessment pathway.

Main duties of the job
·You will have a small highly specialist caseload within the Youth Justice Team. You will provide an advanced standard of assessment, clinical diagnosis, treatment and appropriate intervention for young people with speech, language and communication disorders.
You will devise and deliver appropriate highly specialist intervention/care plans/enhanced models of SLT for clients with complex communication needs and provide suitable and timely support as part of the YJS approach.
·You will develop and deliver specialist training for other professionals within the area of communication development and difficulties.

Working for our organisation
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High Cost Area Supplement – Fringe
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £1,258 and a maximum payment of £2,122 per annum pro rata).

7. Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent, fully registered with the appropriate professional or regulatory body (HCPC).

10. Significant experience with skills in assessment and management of children with SLCN
11. Experience of working in a multi- agency and/or multi-disciplinary team
