About the Role You will be reporting to the Purchasing Manager, and you will be responsible for purchasing materials and goods required for the business. You will be part of a small team that works with suppliers to ensure they meet our quality and delivery requirements. This Role is Full time working a Flexi-System. About the Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an organised, proactive, and analytically minded procurement professional with strong experience in purchasing, supplier coordination, and administrative support. They combine excellent negotiation, communication, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and drive cost‑effective, reliable supply chains. Confident with ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and supplier performance management, they bring a diligent, self‑motivated approach and build positive relationships with both colleagues and suppliers. Tasks and Responsibilities Responsible for handling purchases and placing daily order with suppliers. Follow up outstanding delivery and expediting, where necessary. Running request for quotation (RFQ) processes. Annually review contracts with suppliers and develop cost reduction initiatives. Create and maintain supplier details and part numbers in a computerised system. Interact with suppliers to negotiate pricing, product quality and delivery schedule. Supervise supplier contracts and ensure all documentation is correct and in date. Formulate delivery plans with suppliers including supplier held inventory. Managing non-conformance claims, liaising with supplier for replacements, where applicable. Source and develop suitable suppliers for required materials for new/current products. Liaise with suppliers on technical issue resolution in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply. Carry out administrative duties such as maintaining department’s documentations and records including maintain approved suppliers list. Populate (Excel) reports to monitor supplier spend and performance against defined KPIs. Supplier management including periodic review meetings, performance feedback and coordinating improvement projects. Manage internal and supplier held inventory levels for relevant components. Education and Experience GCSE Math and English Grade 4 or above, or equivalent. Procurement and administration experience. Proficient Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI. Familiar with ERP systems and managing changeover. Fourth Shift and SAP experience preferred. CIPS level 2 is advantageous. Competencies A good team player. Diligent and responsible. Resourceful and self-driven with a strong sense of commitment and urgency to meet set goals, objectives and deadlines. Ability work under pressure and get desired results. Excellent analytical, negotiation and organizational skills. Ability to project a positive and professional image while presenting to suppliers and colleagues. Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken. Analytically and numerically astute. Ability to multitask whilst meeting deadlines. Creative problem solver. Determined and resourceful. Proactive attitude. Self-motivate and able to work on own initiative. Travel as required within the UK. International travel may be required for training and infrequently to visit suppliers or other Trelleborg sites. Must have proof of right to work in the UK.
