Applications are invited for a Consultant Haematologist with interest in Lymphoma based at University Hospital of Wales (UHW), Cardiff.
About the Lymphoma and Haematology Service
The Haematological Cancer Service at UHW is the largest in Wales and one of the busiest in the UK. It provides a secondary Haematology service to the population of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan (around 500,000 people) and the regional service to the population of South & West Wales. It is the only level 4 Haematology unit in Wales. The clinical Haematology service is supported by highly sophisticated diagnostics within the Directorate of Laboratory Medicine.
Responsibilities
 * Lead and participate in clinical studies; preference is given to portfolio badged studies, but commercial studies are also encouraged.
 * Develop a research portfolio in clinical studies or in laboratory science, in collaboration with the academic unit in Cardiff University.
 * Support a large lymphoma service including outpatient practice, day unit chemotherapy treatments in two hospital sites, ambulatory care, and inpatient care on Ward B4 Haematology and the Teenage Cancer Trust Unit.
 * Provide and support complex tertiary services for South Wales, including teenage and young adult cancer service (TYA), ALL service, central nervous system lymphomas, and complex aggressive lymphomas; contribute to CAR-T cellular therapies service support for lymphoid malignancies.
 * Participate in a portfolio of phase I, II, and III clinical trials for lymphoid malignancies from across South Wales.
 * Engage in service development and leadership as part of the lymphoma team.
Qualifications and Selection Criteria
 * Must be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within 6 months of expected date of receipt of a CCT at the time of interview.
 * Clearance to work in the UK (sponsorship requirements apply for non-UK/ RoI nationals).
 * Experience with secondary and tertiary haematology services and lymphoid malignancies is desirable.
 * Flexibility to accommodate full-time or flexible working arrangements.
Terms and Benefits
You will be able to take advantage of the excellent Consultant contract for Wales. The basic salary range for this post is £110,240 per annum to £160,951 per annum.
