Rotational Midwife, Band 6
Grade: Band 6. Contract: 15 months (fixed term). Hours: 37.5 hours per week (full-time or part-time, up to 37.5) including rotational working across maternity areas, long days, nights, weekends and bank holidays as required.
Location: Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust, Liverpool. Salary: £39,959 – £48,117 pro rata (annual).

Applicants should have completed a 12-month preceptorship programme or have equivalent UK post-registration clinical midwifery experience relevant to a Band 6 rotational midwife role across maternity settings.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality, safe, personalised midwifery care to women and families across a range of maternity settings within a supportive multidisciplinary team.
Main Duties
* Provide high-quality midwifery care across maternity services, supporting women and families throughout pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period.
* Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care within a multidisciplinary environment, ensuring safe practice and effective communication at all times.
* Contribute to maintaining high clinical standards, supporting service improvement and promoting positive patient experiences.
* Work rotationally across maternity areas as required, including long days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Person Specification
Skill & Knowledge
* Commitment to midwifery practice and promotion of breast-feeding.
* Knowledge of audit, research, safeguarding and public health/midwifery issues.
* Understanding of payment by results and maternity pathways.
* Counselling and bereavement skills.
Qualifications
* Registered Midwife / BSc midwifery studies.
* Evidence of continuous and recent professional development.
* Mentorship qualification or introduction to management.
Experience
* Demonstrable and recent relevant experience in community, hospital or birth centre setting.
* Competence in all aspects of midwifery practice, including intrapartum care and perineal suturing.
* Desire to work as an integrated midwife in continuity mode.
* Experience of multi‑agency working.
