Job Description:
As part of our commitment to Formula E, we are looking for a talented and passionate Tyre Engineer to join our team.
This is a position where you will work closely with simulation, performance, and race engineers to optimize tyre performance. Your primary role will be to analyse and develop tyre models, improve simulation accuracy, and provide critical insights for race and drivers preparation and strategy.
Main Responsibilities:
* Analyse and optimize tyre usage under race and test conditions.
* Collect and interpret data on tyre pressure, temperature, and wear.
* Collaborate with performance and strategy engineers to adapt tyre recommendations.
* Work closely with tyre manufacturers to understand and exploit tyre characteristics.
* Participate in laboratory and track testing to develop innovative solutions.
* Develop and refine tyre models to improve simulation accuracy and race strategies.
* Correlate Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) simulator data with real-world tyre performance to enhance predictive capabilities.
* Stay up to date with technological advancements in motorsport tyre development.
Profile:
* Engineering degree in mechanics, automotive, or a motorsport field.
* At least 3 years of experience in a similar position in motorsports, ideally in single seaters.
* Strong understanding of tyre dynamics and their impact on performance.
* Proficiency in data analysis tools (MATLAB, Excel, data acquisition software).
* Ability to work under pressure in a competitive and fast-paced environment.
* Fluency in English required; French is a plus.
