Work collaboratively with other social care agencies and social care professionals to provide support to children, young people and their families through appropriate intervention services, which achieve positive and agreed outcomes, as directed by their care plan and line manager.

Bliss Care and Support protects and supports children and young people by providing practical and emotional care and support, ensuring their views, wishes and feelings are heard, encouraging, promoting and advocating opportunities to ensure each young person reaches their full potential, and endeavouring to bring lasting improvements to their lives. To help us achieve this, the role will:
1. Provide a responsive, high quality and person-centred service to children, their families and our partners based on an assessment of need, that is regularly reviewed and is outcomes driven.
2. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with children and their families and where necessary to encourage and promote involvement to achieve positive outcomes.
3. To have and promote the highest possible standard in relation to safeguarding the young people and members of staff.
4. Develop effective working channel of communication with Bliss Care and Support colleagues, partners and other external agencies.
5. Consistently apply Bliss Care and Support's 'Behaviours and Competencies' and Quality standards and to ensure their implementation as necessary and to be proactive in their implementation
6. Refer appropriate cases and issues that require the involvement of a specialist or management support.
7. Record observations and maintain up to date files, utilising agreed systems and procedures.
8. Undertake administrative processes as necessary to maintain systems, procedures and office practices.
9. Work as part of a team to develop and provide a high-quality service to safeguard children and young people, support to reach their highest potential and provide stimulating and safe activities.
10. Complete and attend all qualifications and training as necessary and directed by management.
Qualification
* No qualification is required although below is desirable. (It is essential that employees will complete the relevant qualification during a set period)
* Level 2 core in Health and Social Care, Children and young people or equivalent
Skills and Experience
· Basic understanding and empathy of child and adolescent development and the effects of trauma, loss, abuse and deprivation.
· Basic understanding of Safeguarding in residential settings
· Basic understanding of social care organisations. i.e. social services, CAMHS, advocacy etc.
· To understand and put the homes statement of purpose into practice
· Has some knowledge of word processing to complete quality daily recordings based on training given.
· Basic understanding and commitment to equality diversity and inclusion. Embrace, and evidence in practice the benefits of valuing differences and by challenging persistent inequalities, discrimination and under representation
