South King Street Medical Centre are looking for an administration assistant to join our friendly and supportive admin team to cover a 12 month fixed term contract covering maternity leave.
We are looking for a candidate to work 20 hours per week. This will working over 3 days. Working pattern can be discussed at interview.
You will need to be a flexible team player withexcellent organisational and communication skills. The ability to work underpressure and effectively prioritise your own workload is essential. You musthave the ability to multi-task and work in a busy, ever changing environment.

Main duties of the job
The following are the core responsibilities of the Administration Assistant. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
Process incoming and outgoing mail
1. File and store records as required
2. Photocopy documentation as required
3. Process and distribute incoming practice emails
4. Process incoming patient registrations
5. Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
6. Ensure all patient related documents are scanned onto their medical records, adding Snomed codes and comments as agreed by the practice procedure
7. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers requests appropriately
8. Patient recall and reminders for Chronic Disease Review
9. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
10. Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested
11. Support reception staff, providing cover during staff absences
12. Book appointments as and when required
