Part-Time Office Administrator School: Brandles School Location: Baldock Salary: H4/1-4 £14,889.85 - £15,667.34 Hours: 25 hours per week (9:00am – 2:00pm, term time only) Contract Type: Permanent / Part-Time Start Date: As soon as possible Reports to: Headteacher About the Role Brandles School is seeking a highly organised and motivated Office Administrator to join our busy and friendly school office. This is a key role providing essential administrative support within a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) setting. The successful candidate will ensure the smooth running of daily operations, with particular responsibility for attendance, transport arrangements, student records, and general office administration. You will work closely with staff, students, parents, and external agencies to support the day-to-day needs of the school community. Key Responsibilities Manage daily attendance processes including taxis, calls home, staff emails, and registers. Liaise with taxi companies for part-time students and confirm transport arrangements. Record lunchtime reflections and after-school sanctions, informing parents/carers and updating staff. Maintain and update taxi lists, transport routes, and attendance records. Monitor the HertsFX mailbox, supporting EHCP processes and file transfers. Assist with school census preparation and maintain accurate PB spend records. Support Year 11 transition arrangements, work experience planning, and liaison with external agencies. Provide general administrative support to the Headteacher and school staff, including minute taking, managing registers, and supporting emergency procedures. About You We are looking for someone who: Has excellent organisational and communication skills. Can prioritise effectively and work accurately under pressure. Is confident using ICT systems, including Microsoft Office and email. Maintains confidentiality and works with professionalism and sensitivity. Enjoys being part of a team that makes a difference to young people’s lives. Desirable: Experience working in a school office environment. Understanding of SEMH needs and safeguarding considerations.
