About the Team
The Network Coordination Team comprises 1 Team Leader, 3 Senior Network Co-ordinators, 8 Network Co-ordinators, 4 Assistant Network Co-ordinators, and 2 Network Co-ordination Administrators. The team manages the Surrey Road network to ensure the smooth movement of traffic and reduce congestion. It operates within the Street Works Team, which includes the Compliance Team and Technical Support Team.
About the Role
As an Assistant Network Co-ordinator, you will assess incoming permit applications and road space requests for accuracy related to work on the public highway. Your duties will include entering data into multiple systems, providing cover for Coordinators and Administrators during leave, and supporting the Team Leader, Senior Coordinators, and Network Coordinators.
Shortlisting Criteria
To be considered, your application should clearly demonstrate the following skills and experience:
* Good knowledge of Microsoft systems
* Experience with NRSWA/TMA legislation, either for a Highway Authority or Utility Company
* Ability to work successfully as part of a team in a high-profile service area
* Adaptability, flexibility, and ability to work under pressure
* Streetworks Qualification Registration (SWQR)

Surrey County Council is preparing for Local Government Reorganisation, which will transfer this role into one of the new unitary councils in April 2027, with all existing terms and conditions intact.
