I am working with a client who is seeking proactive Licensing Admin Officer to join a busy local authority team. This role involves processing and managing a variety of licence applications, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and council procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Process applications for licences including taxi/private hire, alcohol, gambling, scrap metal, and house-to-house collections.
* Ensure all documentation is completed, recorded, and stored in line with data protection and council protocols.
* Use the Civica system to input, track, and update licensing records.
* Liaise with applicants, licensees, and internal departments to provide guidance and resolve queries.
* Support the licensing team with general administrative duties (scanning, photocopying, filing, email responses).
* Monitor and manage shared inboxes and telephone queries.
* Assist with exam bookings and invigilation for taxi licensing applicants.
* Maintain accurate spreadsheets and databases to support reporting and compliance.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a local authority or public sector environment, ideally in licensing or administration.
* Familiarity with Civica or similar licensing/CRM systems is highly desirable.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
