Description About the role The new Business Services Manager role has been created to ensure the smooth and effective running of all support operations of our Ipswich School to enable a high performing school environment delivering real outcomes for our young people and industry partners. Reporting to the Principal and working closely with the Assistant Principal and Industry Engagement Manager, this role leads the business services team and is an enabler serving as the conduit between the School, Professional Services, and the wider community. As a brand champion, you will model The Industry School values ensuring that every interaction, process, and presentation reflects our professional standards, reputation, and brand identity. A key member of the School Management Team, you will be responsible for leading the school’s business and operational functions — including administration, enrolment data monitoring and support, student services, and logistics. Leading a team of operational and administrative staff, you will play a strategic role in operational decision-making and process improvements, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Key functions include: Leadership & People Management: Develop and grow the capability of a high performing cross-functional school administration team, fostering a collaborative culture of customer service excellence. Operational & Administrative Management: Manage day-to-day office and administrative operations, key documentation, enrolments and student services including pipeline, events, attendance, and front-line student support. Management of Operational Logistics: Oversee basic finance input, budget monitoring and reporting, financial transaction records, leave processing for campus staff, school fleet usage, facilities related operations, travel and accommodation booking, supplier and contract liaison. New staff onboarding support: Oversee the coordination of documentation, inductions, training, resources and access. Liaise with the People team: (internal or system-level) for employee records, contracts, and compliance matters. Assist with school-wide audits, safety and emergency protocols Manage office infrastructure including device management, IT end-user support requests (liaising with internal/external providers), and shared staff resources. Planning, Logistics, & Resources Management: Oversee major logistical elements of school operations, including exams, reporting, enrolment intake processes, and staff planning days; events and assemblies in collaboration with teaching and support teams and the logistical planning of excursions and incursions in collaboration with the School Management Team. Provide school and system leadership: Work with the School Management Team to support school wide strategy and operations including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, wellbeing, and compliance with workplace policies and legislation, to deliver exceptional stakeholder experiences. Skills And Experiences About You To be successful in this role you will bring the following skills and experience: Essential Qualification in Business, Leadership or Management, such as a Diploma or Cert IV. Demonstrated experience in office management or senior administration role. Proven leadership and people management skills with the ability to lead a high-performing team in fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on stakeholder service High-level organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and make decisions independently. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Strong understanding of confidentiality, privacy and duty of care requirements Working with Children Check (Blue Card) Ability to demonstrate The Industry School values Right to work in Australia Desirable Bachelor Qualification in a relevant field Experience in logistics or project coordination Experience using digital communication platforms and workflow systems Familiarity with school administration systems First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) To Apply If this role has sparked your interest, please Apply Now.
