Our client is a reputable and professional firm with a client base across Scotland and multiple offices. They are seeking an experienced Paraplanner to join their team due to increasing business, referrals, and professional connections, along with plans to recruit another adviser.
This is a rare opportunity, as they have maintained low staff turnover and are recruiting for the first time in years.
The role involves close collaboration with Financial Planners, with encouragement to participate in client meetings. The ideal candidate would be the technical go-to person, adding value from day one, and act as an ambassador for the Chartered Financial Advisers. The role also includes handling ad hoc client queries, creating suitability reports, and ensuring compliance with RDR standards. There may be opportunities for training and mentoring less experienced staff.
Qualifications and experience required include diploma certification, extensive experience in whole-of-market IFA work (or similar), and current or previous Paraplanning or senior administrative roles. Flexibility is possible for the right candidate to fit in with team culture. Additional beneficial knowledge includes pension exams (e.g., AF7), Intelligent Office, and familiarity with platforms like Standard Life, AJ Bell, and Old Mutual, though these are not essential.
The firm is authorized for DB transfers and is experiencing increased workload in pensions, requiring strong knowledge of Pensions and Investments.
In return, they offer an attractive salary and benefits package tailored to the successful candidate. Part-time options are available, and for those commuting from Edinburgh, the possibility of working from there a couple of days a week.
