The Role We are seeking a dedicated and proactive General Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 class from November. This role is ideal for someone with prior experience in KS1 or Reception, who is confident supporting young learners as they transition into more structured learning. The class has a range of needs, so we are looking for someone who can bring energy, initiative, and patience to the role, while working as a general classroom assistant under the direction of the class teacher. Key Responsibilities • Provide support in phonics, early Maths and English, ensuring all pupils can access the curriculum. • Assist with small group work, classroom activities, and pastoral care. • Help establish routines and maintain a positive, structured learning environment. • Work collaboratively with the teacher to meet the needs of a diverse and lively class. • Contribute to the wider life of the school and uphold safeguarding standards. About You • Experience in Year 1 or Reception is highly desirable. • Confident supporting early reading, writing, phonics, and Maths. • Proactive, adaptable, and able to use initiative in a busy classroom. • A caring and resilient practitioner who is committed to helping young children succeed.
