At Aico, we’re transforming the way people interact with their homes. Our mission is to create safer, healthier, and more sustainable homes by connecting devices, data, and people.
We’re a values-driven organisation, committed to delivering measurable social and environmental impact for communities across the UK.
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a TEC & Health Specialist to join our Market & Product Insight team. You’ll help shape our response to a rapidly evolving Technology Enabled Care landscape, while also contributing to some of the most compelling questions in residential health – from indoor air quality and radon exposure to damp, mould, and the conditions that determine how well people live at home.
The Role
The TEC & Health Specialist will be an in-house subject matter expert on Technology Enabled Care (TEC), bringing deep knowledge of the UK TEC landscape to bear on product development and commercial strategy.
TEC is the primary focus of this role, but the opportunity extends further. The HomeLINK connected platform spans indoor air quality monitoring, damp and mould insight, energy efficiency, and fire safety – all underpinned by what is likely the largest dataset on indoor environmental conditions in UK homes. You’ll have the chance to contribute market insight across this broader healthy homes agenda, helping the team understand how policy, regulation, and resident need are evolving across all of these areas.
You’ll track policy developments, engage with customers and stakeholders, and translate market intelligence into clear, actionable recommendations that feed directly into the HomeLINK product roadmap and commercial strategy.
This is a specialist role within a new business function. You’ll have real influence over how products evolve to meet the needs of UK social housing – across TEC and beyond. You’ll engage externally with senior stakeholders, present at industry events, and build relationships across a growing ecosystem, all within the collaborative, mission-driven culture of Aico’s HomeLINK team.
If you’re passionate about Technology Enabled Care and curious about the broader relationship between homes, data, and health, this role offers a rare combination of focus and scope.
Key Responsibilities:
* Track and analyse TEC policy developments, regulation, and market trends across UK health and social care.
* Monitor the broader TEC ecosystem – housing providers, the TSA, DHSC, and local authorities – to identify emerging needs and opportunities.
* Build and maintain the evidence base that informs our TEC strategy and roadmap.
* Contribute insight on adjacent healthy homes topics – including indoor air quality, radon, damp and mould, and energy efficiency – helping the team understand how policy and market dynamics are shifting across the HomeLINK product range.
* Connect the dots between TEC and the wider healthy homes agenda: understanding how independent living, building health, and resident wellbeing intersect – and what that means for our products.
Product & Commercial Input
* Translate market intelligence and customer needs into actionable product and commercial recommendations across both TEC and healthy homes.
* Feed insight directly into the product roadmap, helping shape what gets built next – whether that’s new TEC functionality or features that address indoor environmental risk.
* Support the development of compelling messaging and positioning for HomeLINK’s products, drawing on a uniquely rich dataset on indoor conditions in UK homes.
* Collaborate with product, sales, and customer success teams to ensure market insight is embedded across the business.
Stakeholder Engagement & External Presence
* Build and maintain relationships across the TEC ecosystem: housing providers, the TSA, DHSC, local authorities, and other key stakeholders.
* Present at industry events and conferences, representing HomeLINK’s perspective on TEC and healthy homes.
* Act as an internal advocate for the TEC customer, ensuring the voice of the market is heard in product and commercial decisions.
What You’ll Bring
* Expertise in Technology Enabled Care, whether from hands‑on experience in TEC services (housing associations, local authority telecare teams, TEC vendors) or from a strong research background in a relevant domain such as assistive technology, health tech, (digital) social care, or technology for independent living.
* 3–5 years of industry experience, or equivalent expertise from postgraduate research in a closely related field.
* Confidence engaging externally with senior stakeholders and presenting at industry events.
* Ability to distil complex policy and market dynamics into clear, practical insight.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Background or strong interest in one or more healthy homes areas: indoor air quality, radon, damp and mould, building health, or energy efficiency – and an appetite to develop expertise across the full range.
* Familiarity with the policy and regulatory landscape around residential health, housing quality, or environmental monitoring.
* Knowledge of UK social housing and the role of IoT and data in the sector.
* Experience working with or alongside housing associations, local authorities, or health and care commissioners.
Salary & Benefits
Competitive salary, plus company benefits.
* Hybrid working: minimum 3 days per week in the Bristol office.
* The chance to be the TEC voice inside a company that’s genuinely transforming social housing through technology.
* Genuine exposure to the wider healthy homes space – from IAQ and radon to damp and mould, energy efficiency, and fire safety – backed by what is likely the richest dataset on indoor environmental conditions in UK homes. This is a rare opportunity to work at the frontier of residential health data.
* A values-driven organisation committed to creating safer, healthier, and more sustainable homes.
