Oculus Legal Group is partnering with a respected Legal500-ranked firm to appoint an Associate Solicitor with a background in Property Damage. This rare opportunity offers the chance to step into a leading Commercial Insurance team based in Edinburgh.

The successful candidate will be expected to manage their own case load of property damage recovery claims and subrogated recovery cases.
ROLE OVERVIEW
🔹 Manage a caseload comprising pre-litigation property damage claims, as well as litigated matters in the Court of Session and Sheriff Court.
🔹 Meet annual time recording targets, balancing chargeable and investment time effectively.
🔹 Understand client expectations and handle cases in accordance with service level agreements and established best practices.
🔹 Effectively prioritise tasks to optimise workflow and maximise operational efficiency.
🔹 Recognise and embrace your role within the wider practice group, proactively contributing to process improvements and managing a caseload aligned with your level of technical and legal expertise.
🔹 Cultivate strong internal and external working relationships to support business development and gain a clear understanding of the Firm’s strategic objectives and client priorities.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
✅Proven experience in managing a caseload of property damage recovery claims.
✅ Background in commercial insurance is preferred, though experience in similar areas will also be considered.
✅ Demonstrated ability to independently manage a personal caseload.
✅ Self-motivated and capable of providing guidance, supervision, and support to junior team members.
✅ Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with internal colleagues and external clients.
✅ Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
