What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our systems. Your responsibilities will include:

Technical Oversight: Lead the design decisions for CCS, supporting the Engineering Manager in delivering in-service programmes.
*
Risk Management: Ensure technical leadership by controlling project scope, managing design changes, and engaging stakeholders to identify risks early.
*
Design Reviews: Lead programme-level design reviews, coordinate stakeholders, manage design baselines, and produce Certificates of Design while ensuring governance.
*
System Integration: Review and influence technical requirements and architectural design for seamless integration across sub-systems.
*
Expertise Sharing: Provide specialist knowledge in the integration, validation, and verification of systems.
Your Skills and Experiences:
Essential:
* Extensive experience in network or software engineering, ideally with a background in operations.
* Proven ability to lead on technical matters and provide expert guidance.
* Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards it.
* Specialist expertise in Combat Systems, particularly related to submarines, is a plus.
* Familiarity with DOORS and hands-on experience using it.
* Demonstrated experience in change management processes.
Desirable:
* Systems Engineering (INCOSE) qualifications.

The Team:
Join the In-Service Programme team working on the V Class. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality results within tight timelines. Collaborate with a core team of 6-12 and engage with a broader network of around 30 stakeholders. This role demands strong technical leadership, proactive problem-solving, and effective collaboration.
