Supervising Social Worker, Fostering Team
Sanctuary Personnel has a new permanent position available for a Supervising Social Worker within the Fostering Team to work full time based in Wallington, London.
The salary for this permanent Supervising Social Worker job is up to £47,000 per annum.
* Manage a caseload of foster carers to meet the placement needs and outcomes for children placed in their care.
* Supervise foster carers, mentors, and social work assistants as required.
* Undertake assessments of prospective and existing foster carers to determine their suitability for approval or continued approval as carers.
* Accurately record and keep up-to-date information using the appropriate IT and Information Systems, in accordance with agency policy and procedures.
* Undertake duty tasks as part of the Ascent Fostering rota as directed by the Managers.
* Work out of hours as agreed.
* Promote standards that achieve equality of opportunity.
* Adhere to all relevant policies and procedures and fostering guidance.
* Ensure that Foster Carers and the Looked After Children and Young People receive tailored, personalised support that improves outcomes for them.
* Develop effective and constructive relationships with children, young people, their carers, and their families.
* Participate in the planning and delivery of training to prospective foster carers on a planned rota basis, including evenings and weekends.
* Supervise approved foster carers and carers with temporary approval, and potentially supervise mentors and social work assistants.
* Report safeguarding events to the manager and work in partnership with the local authority to ensure that Safeguarding and Fostering Policies and Procedures are followed.
Requirements of this Supervising Social Worker job:
* A social work qualification or equivalent.
* Understanding of relevant legislation.
* Social Work England registered.
