Salary: £12.85 - £13.47 per hour

The Operations Team is responsible for the safe and efficient use of 130 minibuses used to transport people in North Yorkshire. They are a team of over 300 drivers and passenger assistants that operate at locations throughout North Yorkshire. The team delivers approximately 250,000 passenger journeys per year including 25,000 wheelchair user journeys.
We are looking for Passenger Assistants to work either 20 or 25 hours per week in the Craven area.
The role will include duties such as:
* Assisting with securing wheelchairs in position on vehicle and luggage, walking frames etc. are properly secured during transit.
* Where appropriate, assisting with safe transit of personal belongings, medication, etc. from home to centre and vice versa.
* Ensuring the safe transfer of service users from wheelchairs to conventional or adapted seating and vice versa.
* Assisting the driver in the operation of the tail lift.
* Helping passengers to and from their homes if required including those that travel in a wheelchair.
* Liaising with Operations Officers, other directorate service or school staff and family as necessary.
* Ensure passengers board and alight from the vehicle safely.
