We’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist setting in Maidenhead that supports autistic children and young people aged 4–16. This nurturing school offers a calm, structured environment where pupils benefit from high levels of therapeutic support and tailored teaching approaches rooted in ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) and VB (Verbal Behaviour) methodology. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is patient, proactive, and passionate about helping children reach their full potential. You’ll be working closely with a team of teachers, behaviour therapists, and speech and language specialists to create an environment where pupils feel safe, understood, and able to learn in a way that works for them. Responsibilities Supporting pupils with autism and related communication needs Helping to implement structured routines and individual learning plans Working closely with behaviour therapists and SLTs in a team-based approach Supporting emotional regulation and using visuals/PECS/communication aids Being consistent, calm, and encouraging in every interaction Requirements ✅ A caring, resilient attitude and a strong team-player mindset Experience supporting children with autism or complex SEN (preferred but not essential) Willingness to learn ABA/VB strategies – training is provided Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or happy to apply Right to work in the UK At Supply Hive, safeguarding is a top priority – all successful applicants will undergo relevant checks and training.
