Role Overview
The Marketing team in Shell Energy Trading is the singular integrated marketing team responsible for all global marketing activities for Shell's gas and power offers, across B2B and Trading, including LNG support.
This team consolidates regional and global marketing efforts into a 'hub & spoke' model, with a central marketing services team acting as a centre of excellence. This team develops campaigns, content, assets, insights, manages digital and social platforms, and oversees a central budget to support regional marketing plans. Embedded regional teams with local market knowledge are crucial for aligning strategies and delivering business value.
The Head of Marketing plays a key role in driving efficiency, collaboration, and a customer-focused approach across trading, supporting profitable growth and Shell’s positioning as a leader in gas, power, LNG, and decarbonisation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute multi-year, multi-channel brand strategies to support business growth and enhance Shell Energy's brand awareness.
* Create impactful thought leadership content and campaigns targeting key markets and customer groups.
* Collaborate with Corporate Relations to advocate for gas, power, LNG, and carbon credits, leveraging digital and traditional media.
* Maintain a consistent global external narrative and brand positioning aligned with Shell’s strategic goals.
* Build external partnerships to support advocacy and thought leadership.
* Implement agile marketing plans across regions, aligned with long-term strategies.
* Engage senior stakeholders and lead a global team of 20 marketing specialists to translate business strategies into impactful marketing initiatives.
* Monitor and measure marketing effectiveness, using data to optimize ROI.
* Lead agency relationships and ensure high-quality delivery and global synergies.
* Manage global and regional marketing budgets, ensuring accountability and high ROI.
* Embed a Goal Zero mindset through leadership and visible commitment.
Candidate Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field.
* Extensive experience in marketing, branding, and communications within the energy/trading sector.
* Deep understanding of gas, LNG, power, and carbon trading markets.
* Proven leadership in developing brands, campaigns, and thought leadership content.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills, with strategic and commercial acumen.
