To support the Facilities (Hotel Services) team in delivering catering services to patients, staff, and visitors in accordance with the Health Board Food Safety policy and all relevant policies, procedures, and legislative requirements. We have 4 x 20-hour posts available.
The post holder will assist in developing, maintaining, and promoting high standards of service delivery, supporting team working practices, and the Facilities Unit's commitment to EFQMS. They will help maintain open and effective communication.
The post may involve working as part of the ward-based catering team or the Main Kitchen catering team. Responsibilities include food preparation or regeneration, meal service, and cleaning of catering areas.
Principal Duties:
1. Prepare food and beverages according to Health Board policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
2. Assist nursing staff with meal service at ward level.
3. Serve beverages at ward level as per patient requests.
4. Serve staff and customers in the dining room, providing professional and polite service.
5. Operate the cash register accurately.
6. Ensure all catering areas are cleaned according to daily and weekly schedules.
7. Support contingency actions during major incidents, adverse weather, or other Facilities services emergencies, which may require working outside normal hours.
The duties are not exhaustive and may be reviewed and adjusted periodically to align with the post's grading and organizational development, following consultation with the post holder.
