Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

18. Who will you be supporting?

19. We support adults with all age ranges.
20. The needs of the people we support are Learning disabilities, sensory disabilities, physical disabilities and/or Autism.
21. Support Workers are trained in autism awareness, safeguarding adults, emergency first aid as well as all mandatory training.
22. What is important to the people that we support?
23. Some of us really want paid employment, whilst others are happy to be a volunteer with local organisations or in charity shops. Some of us would really like to be able to travel to and from work on our own, too!
24. We use public transport to travel from home to our workplace with our support workers. This helps us to be confident in our travel routes, safe when travelling and as independent as possible.
25. We are all hard-workers and great team-mates!
26. We want to be supported by people with a wide range of interests and hobbies, someone we can talk to about lots of things. We want Support Workers who can stand up for us at work and help us to set and achieve our goals.
Other important information?
27. There are up to 20 Support Workers working remotely at any one time. This number can change depending on how many people we support and who requires support on any given day.
28. Our support is bespoke to people’s needs, which means that our shifts vary widely. Our longest shift is 8:30am-4:45pm and our shortest is 10am-3:00pm.
29. We need flexibility and a willingness to travel around Merseyside and try new things. We will provide comprehensive training for all aspects of Support Work as well as coaching and guidance on role-specific tasks.
