Miller & Swann Elgin have an opening for a Veterinary Surgeon to join on a maternity cover basis.
You'll be joining our friendly team of veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses, receptionists and administrative support; all contributing to provide the best clinical care to our patients and clients. We are an RCVS-accredited general practice in the heart of Elgin, Scotland, with a fantastic community and connections for those who have an appetite to explore Morayshire.
We offer a salary up to £60,000 per annum plus benefits. For vets relocating to the area, we can support you with a relocation allowance.
The role
This Veterinary Surgeon opportunity is a full-time maternity cover position on a 4-day per week rota, including 1 night on call per week and 1 weekend per month.
The successful Veterinary Surgeon will have access to support from Vet Oracle, a unique range of digital teleservices led by veterinary specialists and referral clinicians who provide interpretations and clinical advice in their disciplines, including medicine, radiology, cardiology, dermatology, oncology, neurology, ophthalmology and dentistry.

Elgin lies on the south coast of the Moray Firth in Scotland, roughly midway between Inverness and Aberdeen. Known as the “whiskey region”, there are many local distilleries, cathedrals, and proximity to sandy beaches. You are close to major cities (around 36 miles to Inverness and 57 miles to Aberdeen). In Elgin, you are well connected with regular trains and driving, with an hour to the Cairngorms and the coast nearby. There is also a great variety of primary and secondary schools with historic buildings.
