An opportunity has arisen for a Mobile Technician within the Wheelchair, Delivery, Repair and Refurbishment Service (WDRRS). The service is based at the Community Equipment Service Store, Peffermill, Edinburgh, and is part of the SMART (Southeast Mobility and Rehabilitation Technology) Services at Astley Ainslie Hospital, Edinburgh. The SMART Centre provides highly specialised clinical rehabilitation technology services, including the Wheelchair and Seating Service, across the southeast of Scotland.
Key responsibilities:
* Perform repairs and maintenance on manual and powered wheelchairs and children’s buggies at the workplace or in the community, depending on service need.
* Provide cover for other members of the service, such as stores and workshop staff, as required.
* Adhere to the service’s standard operating procedures and NHS Lothian’s policies, including all Health & Safety requirements.
Job type and hours: Permanent, part‑time, 21.6 hours per week spread over three full weekdays (service scheduling is flexible to suit the successful candidate).
