Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Huntercombe, a category C prison located in Oxfordshire. HMP Huntercombe is a male prison housing 520 inmates. We are recruiting for a Bank Pharmacy Assistant to support the wide Pharmacy team consisting of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.
Hours
Shift patterns are - Monday to Friday 07:45–17:30 / Weekends 08:30–16:30
Salary
The hourly rate is £21.76 per hour.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and, due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks
Main duties of the job
* Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
* Be an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service
* Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
* Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing-based clinical areas
* Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of return
* Participate in dispensing of prescriptions

Qualifications required
* NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills/equivalent or working towards
* Medicines handling experience desirable but not essential
* Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent
* A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
* Excellent communication skills
* Good IT skills and IT literacy
* Ability to work within a busy environment
* Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policies and procedures
