Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant

You will work as either 1:1 or with groups in helping young people with barriers to learning access work set by class teachers and navigate challenging days at school. Each day will bring a new challenge and a new opportunity to help the child overcome daily difficulties and flourish at school. This role offers the chance to gain varied experience across different schools, age groups, and approaches within secondary SEND support.

Responsibilities
* Assist students with barriers to learning, 1:1 or in small groups, so they can access work set by class teachers.
* Support students to navigate challenging days at school and help them overcome daily difficulties.
* Be a positive support mechanism and role model in secondary school settings across Kirklees.
* Provide flexible support across different schools, age groups, and approaches within secondary SEND provision.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Experience in working with children.
* Understanding of safeguarding in schools.
* Ability to use initiative and problem-solving skills.
* Commitment to putting the needs of children first.
* Role subject to an enhanced DBS check.
