As our Brand & Design Lead, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality graphic and digital design support across the Marketing and Communications team and the wider Portsmouth Water organisation. You’ll play a key role in bringing our brand to life, ensuring consistency and creativity across all channelsfrom digital campaigns and social media, to printed materials, presentations, and communications campaigns. Your designs will help communicate Portsmouth Water’s story, engage our customers, and strengthen our visual identity across every touchpoint.
What will you be doing?
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for creating visually compelling and on-brand creative assets across all touchpoints and communications e.g. leaflets,, brochures, ads, social media, digital advertising etc.
Supporting the launch and implementation of our updated brand strategy and visual identity
Print Design: Creating and delivering high-quality print materials, from customer leaflets and regulatory reports to press and out of home advertising, ensuring print ready files are delivered to our media and print partners.
Digital: Producing digital assets such as social content, display ads, website graphics, email campaigns etc. including motion/animated assets for display ads, social content, reels etc.
Performing basic video editing tasks such as adding copy overlays, and formatting content for social media. Working with our outsourced printers to check proofs and manage print jobs.
Briefing and managing projects with external vendors such as photographers, video production companies etc.
Supporting the design and production of key strategic campaigns, such as behaviour change and marketing campaigns, working closely with the Brand & Campaigns Manager and marketing agency partners.
Maintaining high standards of design, detail, and accuracy, ensuring that all deliverables are production-ready and meet the technical specifications required for print and digital formats.
Acting as a brand guardian, the key point of contact for all things brand design, ensuring consistency and quality across the business.
Maintaining and evolving our Portsmouth Water and Havant Thicket Reservoir brand guidelines and brand templates so they remain relevant and easy to use.
Maintaining organised files and ensuring version control of all assets.
What do you need?
Skills, Qualifications & Competencies
Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop
Competent in Adobe After Effects or other motion graphics software
Strong knowledge of digital formats
Able to correctly set up artwork files for print
Able to translate complex information into easy to understand and highly visual communications
Organised and proactive able to balance multiple projects at once
Collaborative able to build strong relationships and work effectively with the Marketing & Communications team and other departments across the organisation
Excellent attention to detail
Proven multichannel graphic and digital design experience in an inhouse or agency role
Experience designing for both print and digital platforms
A portfolio of both print and digital design work
Experience creating motion graphics for social media and other digital platforms
