Job Overview
We're looking for an experienced Electrical Installation Assessor to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" Organisation to help drive our commercial delivery of Green Skills programmes. You'll be based mainly in Leicester or Derby with some travel to other sites across the East Midlands area.
You’ll support a caseload of learners, delivering a mix of workshop and theory sessions and assessing them. You’ll need to be a qualified electrician with a strong background in both domestic and industrial installation, plus an Assessor Award (D32/33/34 or A1).
Qualifications you deliver may vary from cohort to cohort, but will include:
* Award in the Requirements for the Design and Installation of Domestic and Small Commercial Electric Vehicle Charging Installations
* Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations
* Award in Initial Verification of Electrical Installations
* Award in Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations
* Award in the In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment
* Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Small Solar Photovoltaic Systems
* Certificate for Retrofit Advisors
* Certificate in Domestic Energy Assessment [Awaiting]
* City & Guilds Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018
* Level 3 Certificate in the Building Regulations for Electrical Installations in Dwellings (2393- 10)
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver outstanding teaching and assessment in Electrical Installations up to Level 3, including study programmes, apprenticeships, and adult courses in both workshop and classroom settings.
* You’ll use your hands‑on knowledge to bring lessons to life with a practical, theoretical, and digital mix that engages learners and prepares them for the real world.
* Carry out initial and diagnostic assessment to inform high‑quality, innovative delivery, which challenges and inspires learners and includes clear objectives, involving learners in the planning, review, and evaluation process
* Deliver general advice and guidance with reference to progression, pre‑programme information, including specification of programme entry criteria
* Continuously monitor course effectiveness and assess learner development through individual learning plans to inform teaching strategies, which ensure learner and programme success
* Work closely with colleagues (for example, Engagement Broker, Project Coordinator and Operations Manager) to support and strengthen employer relationships that lead to job outcomes and/or career progression for learners completing the qualifications
* You’ll also play a vital role in curriculum development, learner progress tracking, and resource creation to support high‑quality outcomes.
* Ensure all administrative procedures are kept up to date prior to, during and after the programme (i.e., keeping a register, marking work, monitoring absence, completing funding documentation) to ensure all compliance and quality procedures and funding requirements are met
* Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to Senior Leadership Team

* Fluent in the English language
* Excellent organisational and time management skills

* IT proficient with an ability to use the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Outlook, Teams, Excel, SharePoint, Word, and PowerPoint
