Caerphilly County Borough Council is looking for knowledgeable and motivated Museums Collections Officer responsible for the care, documentation, and development of our collection, ensuring items in the collection are preserved, accessible, and effectively managed for current and future generations. You will play a central role in maintaining professional standards in collections management, supporting access to the stored collection and contribute to exhibitions, learning programmes, and public engagement. We are looking for a candidate who has experience working with a museum or heritage collection and can demonstrate knowledge of using MODES collections management systems. An understanding of preventive conservation and object handling practices together with an ability to work independently alongside a commitment to improve access, inclusion, and public benefit from the collection is a prerequisite for the role along with a relevant qualification in museum studies, heritage, or a related field. For the role, we ask that you have: A relevant Level 6 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example Museum Studies or Cultural Heritage Studies. Demonstrable practical experience of collections management, including work in a museum. A Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business purposes for off-site working.
