Liquid Personnel is looking for a highly skilled and independent Kinship Care Assessor to join its client's Fostering Service in Rotherham. This role focuses on the robust assessment of kinship and mainstream foster carers, ensuring that children are placed in safe, nurturing environments that support their long-term well-being. What will your responsibilities be? Comprehensive Assessments: Complete fostering assessments of kinship or mainstream carers (both within and outside the local authority) using Form K, Form C, or Form F. Statutory Compliance: Undertake all statutory-related checks, including references and safeguarding verifications, to ensure carers meet national standards. Direct Work: Conduct weekly planned and unplanned home visits and facilitate placement planning meetings to support the assessment and care planning process. Panel Presentation: Prepare and present completed assessments to the Fostering Panel for formal consideration and approval. Independent Management: Manage your own work commitments and deadlines independently while maintaining accurate, up-to-date records on the service database. Meeting Facilitation: Attend and contribute to case-specific meetings, working collaboratively with managers and partner agencies. Qualifications and Experience: To be successful in this role, you must have: Social Work England registration and a BA in Social Work (or equivalent). Experience Requirement: At least 3 years of post-qualified experience within Children’s and Young People’s Services. Assessment Expertise: Proven experience in completing kinship or mainstream fostering assessments and successfully presenting them to a Fostering Panel. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce analytical and evidence-based reports. Working Hours and Flexibility: Hybrid Working: Enjoy a balance of remote work and office/community-based visits in the Rotherham area. Schedule: Full-time hours, Monday to Friday. Contract: Initial 3-month contract with the strong possibility of extension based on service needs. Approach: A flexible and adaptive approach is required to meet the evolving needs of a busy fostering team.
