Job Description:
We are looking to strengthen our tendering team with a senior commissioning engineer based at Derby with hybrid working available.
You will report directly to the commissioning manager and your role will include creating tender stage commissioning proposals and programs for waste and water treatment projects.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Communicating effectively with a team of multidisciplinary engineers both face-to-face and remotely, providing technical support, specialist advice, and evaluating viable options.
* Working independently with limited supervision.
* Fully understanding client requirements from project documents and scope information.
* Contributing ideas and experience to formulate and evaluate solutions and proposals.
* Identifying and including special commissioning features.
* Highlighting commissioning risks and suggesting mitigations, including temporary plant requirements and outside normal working hours.
* Devising commissioning methods that minimize reliance on temporary plant, ensuring allowances are included for unavoidable workarounds.
* Listing interfaces with third-party equipment.
* Developing a commissioning plan to ensure client operations are unaffected.
* Creating a list of unavoidable operationally intrusive works with specific methodologies.
* Developing a commissioning strategy statement using standard proforma.
* Reviewing and assisting in project program development, including scheduling sufficient time for all commissioning stages.
* Estimating resources and duration for commissioning stages based on experience.
* Endorsing project program, considering work sequence and duration, including unusual work patterns (e.g., 7-day attendance, 24-hour manning, night shutdowns).
