Position: Team Leader
Hours: 42 per week (52 working weeks per annum)
Salary: £32,640 per annum
We are now recruiting for a Team Leader who has a genuine passion for care and who wants to make a difference to the lives of the young people we support. You will have the ability to maintain a stable, happy, and caring environment that prioritizes the health, safety, and welfare of our young people.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead by example and lead shifts when required
2. Assist with rota management where required
3. Observe and monitor the wellbeing of the individuals we support
4. Provide appropriate physical and emotional support to young people in residence through the work of a team of care staff within a residential environment
5. Manage a team effectively, motivating, coaching, managing performance via probation and appraisal, and auditing the quality of care
This role is critical in ensuring that ‘The Children’s Home Regulations and Quality Standards’ are exceeded. It also offers opportunities to develop and improve practice.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of a Level 3 RQF Child and Young Person’s Workforce qualification or equivalent (Essential)
* Proven supervisory experience in a leadership role
* Strong communication skills to effectively engage with team members and clients
* Ability to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs
* Valid driving license and experience in driving, particularly in a care home setting
* Familiarity with IT systems to support operational efficiency in senior care environments

Whinfell School is located on two sites in Kendal, Cumbria, and serves as both a home and school with outstanding facilities to enable students to learn, progress, and grow as individuals. We have a proud and successful tradition of supporting students aged 11-19 years with Autism Spectrum Condition, complex needs, and associated learning difficulties.
