About Proud2Be
Proud2Be is a grassroots queer-led social enterprise that supports and enables LGBTQIA+ people in Devon (and beyond) to thrive, be free, safe, and proud to be ourselves. We also work with others to acknowledge and help dismantle systemic oppression.
Role Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Youth Worker to join our team. You will help provide LGBTQIA+ young people with meaningful opportunities to build confidence, raise aspirations, amplify their voices, and recognise their worth and value.
This role involves supporting three evening youth groups per week during term time, alongside occasional outings during the summer holidays and participation in one residential per year. You'll also attend supervision, team days, and training as required.

* Proactively contribute creative ideas and embrace new approaches within a supportive, dynamic team.
* Uphold a strong commitment to the freedom, rights, and inclusion of all LGBTQIA+ individuals, especially those facing multiple and intersecting forms of discrimination (e.g., trans and/or non-binary people, disabled people, travellers, asylum seekers and refugees, sex workers, and people of colour).
Core Duties
* Support LGBTQIA+ youth in their personal, social, and educational development through inclusive and empowering activities.
* Provide peer and one-to-one support as needed (including some evenings and occasional weekends).
* Help design and deliver a fun, engaging curriculum that inspires and motivates young people.
* Recognise and celebrate the achievements and successes of young people.
* Participate in occasional outings during the summer holidays and in one annual residential trip.
* Complete administrative, financial, and reporting tasks accurately and on time.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, taking initiative and sharing ideas.
* Ensure a safe and inclusive environment by following Proud2Be's health, safety, and safeguarding policies.
* Attend regular supervision sessions, appraisals, team meetings, and training opportunities.
* Promote youth services through school assemblies and facilitate LGBTQIA+ workshops during PSHE/enrichment days.
* Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to the needs of the organisation and the communities we serve.
Essential Information

* Supervision: One session per month with the line manager
* Team Days: Twice a month
* Additional Commitment: Outings during summer holidays and one annual residential
* Training: As required by line manager
* Locations: Newton Abbot and Paignton
