Job Title: Litigation Lawyer/Solicitor
Salary: £41,182 per annum
Location: Hybrid role with the expectation to work across Telford and Stafford
Hours: 36 hours per week

About the role:
We are looking for a motivated and efficient Litigation Lawyer/Solicitor to join our legal team. In this role you will support the Legal Services Manager and Principal Solicitor in the provision of a comprehensive litigation service to in-house colleagues.
The role
* Maintain and be responsible for a personal and varied caseload.
* Responsible for litigation affecting the Group and/or other subsidiaries of HPG including preparation of court documents, interviewing witnesses and drafting witness statements, ensuring compliance with legislation and the Civil Procedure Rules.
* Undertake advocacy where appropriate.
* Instruct and liaise with external Solicitors or Barristers where required.
* Assess claims and advise on liability and/or quantum as appropriate and to negotiate settlements when instructed and authorised to do so.
* Write prepare and present reports to the Executive Management Group and as and when required.
* Assist with the development and delivery of relevant strategies and policies.
What skills and experience we are looking for:
* Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with evidence of continuing professional education.
* Expert knowledge of Microsoft applications.
* Experience of litigation and advocacy.
* Previous experience with a local authority or Registered Provider of Social Housing.
* Good drafting skills, with focus on statements of case and witness statements.
